I am extremely fickle when it comes to beauty products (why yes I did switch moisturizers… again). There are only a few products that I have deemed irreplaceable. First, nail polishes: I only buy OPI or Essie. At $8-$9 per bottle, they are reasonably priced and of great quality. My go-to colors are, L-R, Dutch Tulip (summer toes), Privacy Please (fingers), Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ (winter toes).
Second, my Laura Mercier Eyebrow Pencil. I will be forever grateful that I chose to do my own makeup for my wedding day because it was during a trip to Sephora to prepare for this endeavor that a salesgirl recommended this pencil in Blonde. Until that day I was unable to find a match for my ashy (not reddish, not brownish) blonde eyebrows. Et voila! The perfect match.
Third, my Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. Love it. It is always in my purse. Sometimes I’ll switch to a peachy, pink, or coral gloss or stain (I never wear actual lipstick), but this is my tried & true.
Aside from these items, I am always looking for the next best thing (I’m a marketer’s dream). Sometimes I hit upon something good, sometimes I go back to what I was already using. But I usually stick to a few favorite brands: Make Up For Ever, MAC, Smashbox, Clinique, Laura Mercier, NARS… That’s still loyalty, right?
